Equipment
-
Chef’s Knife
-
Cutting Board
-
Mixing Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 serrano or jalapeño, finely chopped (remove seeds for less heat)
- 1 mango, peeled and finely chopped
- 1/4 bunch cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 roma tomato, finely chopped
- 1/4 onion, finely chopped
- Juice of 2 limes
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
-
Place the finely chopped serrano or jalapeño, mango, cilantro, roma tomato, and onion into a mixing bowl.
-
Add the lime juice and season with salt to your preference.
-
Gently toss everything until evenly combined and the flavors marry.
-
For best flavor, chill the salsa for 10–15 minutes before serving, though you can serve it immediately if short on time.
-
Serve with tortilla chips, over ceviche, in tacos, alongside grilled fish or chicken, or as a bright topping for salads and bowls.
Notes
- Choose a mango that is ripe but still slightly firm for easier chopping and the best texture.
- To increase heat, add a second pepper or leave some seeds in when chopping.
- This salsa is at its freshest the day it’s made, but you can refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
