Crispy Ritz-Crusted Air Fryer Chicken Recipe

This simple Air Fryer Ritz Chicken recipe came together when I realized I hadn’t planned dinner. I grabbed a few pantry staples and whipped this up just in time to feed my hungry family.

Despite how easy it is, the flavor is big — thanks to the crunchy Ritz cracker coating. It was so tasty I didn’t even need sauce, and that’s saying a lot since I usually dunk everything!

How to Make Air Fryer Ritz Chicken

Start by pulsing a sleeve of Ritz crackers in a blender or food processor until they resemble coarse crumbs. If you don’t have either, place the crackers in a gallon plastic bag and crush them with your hands or a rolling pin — that works fine too.

Combine the cracker crumbs with 1/4 cup grated Parmesan, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and a pinch of kosher salt and pepper. Mix until evenly distributed.

Trim a pound of chicken breasts and cut into thin strips or bite-size nuggets. Crack an egg into a bowl and beat it with a fork. Set up a simple breading station: egg bowl, Ritz-Parmesan mixture, and the chicken near the air fryer.

Dip each piece of chicken into the beaten egg, then press into the cracker mixture so it’s evenly coated. Place the breaded pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving a little space between them for air circulation.

Lightly spray the tops with nonstick cooking spray to help them turn golden and crisp. Air fry at 400°F for about 15 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket halfway through if your fryer recommends it. That’s enough time to finish cleaning up the kitchen or toss together a quick side.

When the cooking time is up, you’ll have golden, crispy chicken with a delicious buttery-cracker crust. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, or enjoy them plain — they’re great either way.
