Our 2017 family photos are some of our most cherished and memorable. With neutral outfits and an urban backdrop, the session captured our family’s personality, and we will treasure these images forever.

Many thanks to my dear friend and exceptionally talented photographer, Madison Katlin Photography, for capturing our family so naturally and with so much patience.
We chose the Bishop Arts District in Dallas for our session — one of our favorite spots. It’s a quaint, artsy neighborhood filled with charming shops, great restaurants, and a relaxed, family-friendly vibe.

I scheduled the photos on my birthday hoping everyone would cooperate and make mama happy. Wishful thinking, perhaps!
The boys were wonderfully sweet and genuinely enjoyed the session.

Our little girl, on the other hand, had other plans.

She loudly protested through much of the session — not because she was sick or tired, but because she simply refused to cooperate if it wasn’t her idea. By the end it had become pretty comical. Mama definitely needed a drink!
We tried everything from gummies to her favorite songs on the phone to keep her from screaming “NOOO!”

Despite the drama, Madison still captured several wonderful family images. In the moment it felt like we might not get any, but the final photos proved otherwise.

I’m so grateful for the family Brandon and I have been blessed with.

These four bring us immense joy and pride. They’re healthy, happy, and full of life. We’re incredibly thankful for each of them and excited for another year of watching them grow and flourish.

After the session we promised the kids pie, so we headed to Emporium Pies. It was the perfect way to celebrate and let the kids dig in without worrying about chocolate or salted caramel on our neutral clothes.

We wish you and your loved ones a New Year filled with health, blessings, and everything that brings you joy.

xoxo,
