Strawberry Agua Fresca

Water is essential for health, and making it more enjoyable helps you drink more. Agua fresca is a simple, lightly flavored fruit drink made with fresh fruit and water. This strawberry version is bright, slightly sweet, and perfect for hot afternoons by the pool.

I love this Strawberry Agua Fresca for its easy preparation and pure strawberry flavor. Use ripe, fragrant berries for the best results. If you prefer a more tart or citrusy note, try adding a splash of lemon or lime. For a bubbly twist, replace some of the water with sparkling water just before serving.

How to Make Strawberry Agua Fresca

  • Place washed, hulled strawberries and ½ cup (120 ml) water in a blender and puree until smooth.
  • If you prefer a seed-free drink, strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher.
  • Add ice, the remaining cold water (about 2 to 3 cups / 480–720 ml depending on desired strength), and granulated sugar if using. Blend or stir until sugar dissolves and the mixture is well combined.
  • Pour into glasses over ice and serve immediately. Refrigerate any leftovers.
