Video: Orange Ginger Pork
This Orange Ginger Pork video might just replace Ken’s favorite takeout. The pork is marinated overnight in a bright orange and ginger blend, then finished with a sweet, zippy glaze. We grilled it to caramelized perfection and served it over steamed white rice. The method is straightforward and approachable, and the flavors are lively enough to impress family and friends.
Patti and I reserve one evening each week as our date night. Often we fire up the Sawtooth Wood Pellet Grill or another smoker on our patio, though sometimes we cook indoors. Our dining space has a relaxed rainforest-themed atmosphere with a wood pellet patio heater, soft lighting, candles and lanterns, and music on surround sound. We enjoy a glass of wine or a strawberry margarita made with frozen berries, good food and sometimes even a dance. The evening is about food, conversation and the pleasure of cooking together.

About Our Recipes
We develop our recipes on the patio where we keep a “wall of grills”: a mix of pellet grills (Green Mountain, Sawtooth, Traeger, Memphis), propane and charcoal options, side-box smokers and portable ovens. Our approach focuses on healthy, lower-fat techniques while maximizing flavor, and many of our recipes can be adapted across pellet, gas, wood or charcoal grills. The essential elements to preserve are time and temperature; those determine texture and doneness more than the specific equipment.
Some recipes will work in an oven or crock pot in a pinch, but you’ll miss the outdoor-smoke and char flavors that grilling provides. That said, a recipe should be treated as a guide — feel free to adjust seasonings and methods to suit your taste. Experimenting is part of the fun.
Live your passion and do what you love,
Ken & Patti
